Keystone Festivals & Events 2026

Your complete guide to River Run Village's summer festival season — all steps from your door.

Every summer, Keystone's River Run Village transforms into an outdoor festival venue with live music, food, drinks, and art — all set against a mountain backdrop at 9,280 feet. Our condo in Silver Mill is literally in River Run Village, so you're steps from every event on this list.

Here's the full 2026 lineup with dates, tips for each event, and booking advice so you can plan ahead.

2026 Festival Calendar at a Glance

July 18–19 Wine & Jazz Festival
July 24–26 River Run Art Festival
September 5 Oktoberfest

Bacon & Bourbon Festival

Indulgent & social

June 27–28, 2026

Keystone's most popular festival — and it sells out. Imagine craft bourbon tastings, bacon-infused everything (bacon jam, bacon mac, chocolate-covered bacon), live music stages, and a mountain village buzzing with energy. VIP tickets get you early entry and access to premium pours.

Tips

  • Buy tickets early — VIP sold out 3 weeks before the 2025 event.
  • Pace yourself on the bourbon. Altitude amplifies alcohol. Eat first.
  • Saturday gets more crowded than Friday. If you prefer a mellower vibe, go Friday.

Booking tip: This is Keystone's highest-demand summer weekend. Book your stay at least 6 weeks ahead.

Stars & Guitars

Patriotic & festive

July 3, 2026

Keystone's Fourth of July eve celebration. Live country and rock music in River Run Village, food vendors, craft beer, and the main event: a professional fireworks show over the mountains. It's one of the best fireworks displays in Summit County — the mountain backdrop makes it unforgettable.

Tips

  • Grab a spot by 7 PM for the best fireworks views. The village green fills up fast.
  • Bring layers — it drops into the 40s after sunset, even in July.
  • The free Keystone shuttle runs late for the event. No need to worry about parking.

Booking tip: July 4th week is peak summer season. Expect higher nightly rates and minimum stays.

Wine & Jazz Festival

Relaxed & sophisticated

July 18–19, 2026

The classiest of Keystone's summer festivals. Wine tastings from Colorado and national vineyards, paired with smooth jazz performances on multiple stages throughout River Run Village. The atmosphere is noticeably more laid-back than Bacon & Bourbon — think couples, wine enthusiasts, and jazz fans enjoying the mountain air.

Tips

  • The Grand Tasting ticket is worth it — you get access to the full wine selection plus the jazz tent.
  • Colorado wines have improved dramatically in recent years. Don't skip the local pours.
  • The Saturday evening headliner set (usually around 6 PM) is the highlight.

Booking tip: A popular weekend but slightly easier to book than Bacon & Bourbon or July 4th.

River Run Art Festival

Creative & family-friendly

July 24–26, 2026

A juried fine art show featuring 50+ artists from across the country. Painters, sculptors, jewelers, and photographers display (and sell) their work in booths throughout River Run Village. Live music, food vendors, and kids' art activities round out the weekend. It's free to attend — just show up and browse.

Tips

  • This is the most family-friendly festival of the summer. Bring the kids.
  • If you see something you love, buy it. Artists bring limited inventory and popular pieces sell early.
  • Sunday afternoon is the quietest time to browse if you prefer fewer crowds.

Booking tip: Free admission makes this an easy add to any July trip.

Bluegrass & Beer Festival

Laid-back & fun

August 1–2, 2026

Craft beer tastings from Colorado breweries and beyond, paired with live bluegrass and Americana music on the village stage. The energy is more casual and community-oriented than the bigger festivals. It's a perfect late-summer weekend — warm days, cool evenings, and good vibes.

Tips

  • Colorado craft beer is world-class. Try a few you haven't heard of.
  • Bring a low-back chair or blanket for the music — there's open lawn seating.
  • The Saturday afternoon session tends to have the best mix of music and beer variety.

Booking tip: August rates start to come down from July peaks. Good value for a festival weekend.

Oktoberfest

Festive & seasonal

September 5, 2026

Keystone's season closer — German-style beer, brats, pretzels, polka music, and stein-holding contests. It's a one-day event that marks the transition from summer to fall. The aspens are often just starting to turn, making the village scenery even better. A fun, lighthearted way to cap the festival season.

Tips

  • The stein-holding contest is hilarious to watch (and harder than it looks).
  • This is one of the less crowded festivals. You can show up late and still have a great time.
  • Stick around after the festival — the fall colors in late September are stunning for hiking.

Booking tip: Early September offers some of the best rates of the year. Fewer crowds, great weather, fall colors starting.

Beyond the Festivals

Festival weekends are the headliners, but Keystone has things going on all summer. Free outdoor concerts in the village, the Saturday farmers market, yoga on the lawn, s'mores around the fire pit — the resort keeps the energy going between events.

And if you're visiting outside festival season, there's still plenty to do. Our hiking guide covers 10 trails within 30 minutes of the condo. The area guide has the full rundown on winter sports, summer activities, dining, and getting around.
