River Run Village Guide

Keystone's walkable base village — gondola, dining, shops, and everything at your doorstep.

River Run Village is the main base area at Keystone Resort. It's where the gondola starts, where the restaurants are, and where you want to be staying. If you're at River Run, you can walk to everything — no car, no shuttle, no hassle.

The River Run Gondola

The River Run Gondola is the main lift at Keystone. Built in 2008 by Doppelmayr, it rises 2,307 vertical feet over 9,587 feet of cable to the summit of Dercum Mountain. There's a mid-station for loading and unloading partway up.

From the top of Dercum, you can access all three of Keystone's mountains — continue to North Peak and The Outback for more advanced terrain, or stay on Dercum for cruisers and family-friendly runs.

Our condo at Silver Mill is a 2-minute walk from the gondola base. Gear up, walk out, and you're on the mountain.

Where to Eat

River Run Village and the surrounding Keystone area have solid dining options — from quick bites to multi-course dinners. Here are the standouts:

Pizza On the Run

140 Ida Belle Dr (Silver Mill building) · Casual · $$

Right in the Silver Mill building — literally downstairs from our condo. Pizza, happy-hour specials, and the kind of place you hit after a long day on the mountain when you don't want to go far.

Inxpot

195 River Run Rd · Coffee & Cocktails · $–$$

A cozy, book-filled coffee shop in River Run Village. Great for morning coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and — later in the day — cocktails. Good spot to warm up between runs.

Kickapoo Tavern

129 River Run Rd · Pub & Mexican · $$

A River Run classic with pub food, Mexican dishes, and a patio. Great après-ski spot when it's open — check current hours before heading over.

Snake River Saloon & Steakhouse

23074 US-6 · Steakhouse · $$$

Just outside River Run on US-6. Steaks, live music, and a local feel. A solid dinner option — especially if you're celebrating something.

Ski Tip Lodge

Keystone · Prix Fixe · $$$$

A historic Keystone dining experience. The Ski Tip Lodge serves a prix fixe four-course dinner in a cozy, fireplace-lit setting. Reservations recommended — this is the special-occasion dinner.

Keystone Ranch

Keystone · Upscale Mountain Cuisine · $$$$

Set in a 1930s homestead, Keystone Ranch is the resort's most upscale dining option. Mountain-inspired cuisine with views to match. Another one that needs a reservation.

Pro tip: The condo has a full kitchen. Grab groceries at City Market in Dillon (5 minutes away) and cook breakfast or dinner in. It saves a lot — resort dining adds up fast.

  • Keystone Sports - River Run (Arapahoe Lodge, 129 River Run Rd): Full ski and snowboard rental shop. Demo skis available. Right in the village.
  • The Colorado Store (Dercum Square): Gifts, souvenirs, and Colorado-themed gear.
  • Silverthorne Outlets (10 min drive): The full outlet mall experience — North Face, Patagonia, Nike. Good for gear you forgot or deals on layers.

Why Stay in River Run Village?

Keystone has a few different "neighborhoods" — Lakeside Village, Mountain House, and River Run. River Run is the one you want, and here's why:

  • Gondola access. The River Run Gondola base is right here. Walk out and ski.
  • Everything walkable. Restaurants, coffee, rental shops, and the slopes — all within a few minutes on foot.
  • Night skiing starts here. The lit runs come back to River Run, so you can ski until close and be home in 2 minutes.
  • No car needed. Between walkability and the free Summit Stage bus, you can do your whole trip without driving.
  • It feels like a village. River Run has a pedestrian plaza, fire pits, and a compact layout that makes it easy to explore.
